- Expect to have a small amount of nasal
bleeding over the next 2-3 days.
- Tape a gauze pad underneath your nose,
and change gauze as needed.
- Bleeding is generally decreased by
sitting up, and worsened by lying down.
- Bleeding is also worsened by bending,
lifting, or straining.
- Do not blow your
nose.
- Notify your doctor of any excessive
bleeding.
- Take your prescribed antibiotic as
directed.
- Take your prescribed pain medication as
needed.
- Plastic
splints have been placed in the nose. These will be removed
approximately one week after surgery. Call the office to schedule
an appointment.
- If additional packing material has been
placed in your nose, this will need to be removed 2-3 days after
your surgery. Call the office to schedule an
appointment.

Purchase a brand of nasal saline spray
and sniff it up both nostrils every few hours when you are
awake
At night coat the inside of both nostrils
with Ayr Saline Gel before bed. Apply with a
Q-tip.
Begin Nasal Irrigation One Week after
Surgery
Purchase Neilmed sinus rinse. Use twice
daily
