Huh?...What Did You
Say?...
Do you sometimes feel that people are mumbling or not
speaking clearly? Do
you frequently ask people to repeat themselves? Has a friend or family
member complained that you turn the TV up too loud? Do you have difficulty
understanding conversation in crowds or noisy restaurants? Do you hear constant noise
or ringing in your ears?
If so, you may be 1 of 28 million Americans (1 in 10) who
experience hearing loss.
Half of them are under the age of 65. Hearing loss occurs
gradually making it more difficult for you to notice, however it may
be obvious to others around you.
What May have Caused My Hearing
Loss?
You may have suffered hearing loss due to one or more of the
following conditions:
- Genetics
- Aging
- A head injury, infection or illness that damaged
the ear
- Exposure to loud noise
- Excess fluid or wax impaction
Can an Audiologist Help
Me?
The first step is to have your hearing tested. Our offices have
professional audiologists (see their biographies
below) who are trained to evaluate your hearing and
make recommendations for treatment.
You Should Hear What You’re
Missing!
Today’s technological advances have led to higher quality
hearing aids. At
Biltmore ENT, all of our hearing aids are 100% digital. Digital aids are set via a
computer by the audiologist and can be altered within the office
based on the patient’s input and hearing loss. Digital hearing aids can be
totally automatic, meaning they will automatically adjust for volume
and decrease background noise depending on their environment. Our audiologists will assist
in making the most appropriate choice based on your lifestyle and
degree of hearing loss.
As part of your complete hearing healthcare, every hearing
aid purchased at Biltmore ENT comes with a FREE lifetime supply of
batteries!
